Starting initially as physics undergrad, I accidentally signed up for a class on theoretical ecology in my 2nd year. This random decision had a huge impact on my academic career: by the end of the course, I was fascinated with the idea of applying mathematics to understand ecosystems and decided to do my thesis in ecology. In mornings, I would attend Physics courses and use the math that I had just learned to ecological problems in the evening. At the end of my undergrad, I decided to work full time in ecology and joined a Ph.D. program in ecology. | |||
