I am doing my PhD on “Dynamics of the Urban Metabolism” at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). I'm trying to understand how cities modulate our resource consumption. For that I use data analysis, dynamical system modeling and ABM. I hold a MSc degree in Complex Systems Modeling and a BSc in Environmental Engineering. Before my PhD, I worked as a data scientist at PENSA, Rio de Janeiro’s Big Data office, and co-founded two organizations: DATABASE / RJ - focused on data education and data-based policy dissemination - and Metabolism of Cities - dedicated to research and dissemination of the environmental impact of cities.

I have a BSc in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering (UFF-Brazil), with an MSc in Complex Systems Modeling (USP-Brazil). I am now working on my Ph.D. thesis on Dynamics of the Urban Metabolism at EPFL-Switzerland. Before moving to Europe, I had worked for several City Planning initiatives in Rio de Janeiro, mostly with data analysis on sustainability (UN-Habitat, IPP, P3NS4). During the first years of my Ph.D. I had co-founded the not for profit organization Metabolism of Cities.
