June 17 or 18 (next weekend) starting from Santa Fe ski bowl (shuttle from college). Day loop hike with lunch views, some scrambling, Penitente summit; possible shade in afternoon leg.
Recommended:

'''Deception Point, Lake Peak & Penitente summit Loop.''' Starts from Santa Fe ski bowl (car required). Day hike up Winsor trail and Raven's Ridge with serious views, some scrambling along minimally exposed ridge from Deception to Lake Peak. Various return legs including skipping Lake and direct back down ski slopes, skipping Penitente for off-piste scramble to Nambe Lake and ramble over Penitente summit wildflower meadow then reconnect with the Skyline Trail and on back down an easy cruise through forest shade. Boots strongly recommended for scrambling; 2+ liters minimum water/person.
