Housing

Each participant is responsible to find, book and pay for their own housing.

Book by May 10 at the latest
We recommend that you book your stay as soon as possible as Santa Fe is busy in the summer months. Please be sure to book your accommodations by May 10 so that we can plan transportation with plenty of time. We will send out a survey in late May about SFI Shuttle Service (see below)

Courtyard by Marriot
We have a room block for 12 at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 3347 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe. The room block is for single rooms (king bed) at a cost of $125.83 per night (taxes included). The block is limited to 12 single rooms because it includes a seat on their shuttle so that you can easily get to GSSS each morning and return each evening. The Courtyard by Marriott is located in fashionable Midtown, Santa Fe close to Meow Wolf, Second Street Brewery Rufina Tap Room, and other venues. It is 5 miles from downtown but has shuttle service.

Santa Fe International Hostel (least expensive option)
1412 Cerrillos Rd, Santa Fe, NM
• 15 minutes to Downtown Plaza by car or bus.
• 20 minutes to the Santa Fe Institute by car.
• Dorm Room + shared bath; Single + shared bath; Single + private bath these options usually cost $20-$35/night
• Cheapest to book through hostelworld.com (must pay in cash upon arrival).
• Can also book through airbnb.com (taxes and airbnb fees will apply).
• If you have questions, please email questions@santafehostel.com for assistance
• (505) 988-1153

Other Options
Hotels in downtown Santa Fe
Hotels along Cerrillos Road (you will need a car to access most of them)
Airbnb
Any rent-by-owner property

Note: if we get any new information, it will be posted here

SHARING HOUSING
We encourage participants to self-organize if they would like to split the costs of a hotel room or Airbnb rental or some other rental. If you or roommates do not have a car, we strongly recommend staying within reasonable walking distance to the Plaza.

Use this google spreadsheet to get in touch with each other.

Transportation / SFI Shuttle

Rental Car - It will be easiest to get around Santa Fe is you have a car. There is plenty of parking at the Santa Fe Institute (SFI) if you choose to drive.

Rideshare - Santa Fe no longer as a taxicab service. Rideshare apps like Lyft and Uber are the best way to get a ride around town.

Courtyard by Marriot - For those staying at the Marriott, a 12-person hotel shuttle will transport you from the hotel to SFI each day and back again. Inquire about this service when you check in. (more info above)

SFI Shuttle Service - For those who need it, we will provide SFI Shuttle Service from downtown Santa Fe to the Santa Fe Institute Campus each day that the program meets (Mon-Fri). Shuttles will depart at 8:30am from the Water & Sandoval St. Be there by 8:15 to board the shuttle. If you are on foot, be sure to book accommodations within walking distance.

SFI Shuttle Planning - we ask that everyone book their hotel by May 10. After that date, we will send out a survey to figure out where everyone is staying and who needs SFI Shuttle Service. We will make any necessary adjustments after the survey is completed.

THANKS EVERYONE!
