I am interested in income inequality, but don't know much about evolutionary game theory.  I usually think about it from a sociological viewpoint, i.e. the "culture of poverty" and stratification of society.  I would be interested in modelling/learning more about it from an econ perspective though... The idea

Poverty and income inequality are two social phenomena that might me emergent aggregate results of social interactions. Understanding economics as an evolving complex system might help us understand poverty and income inequality, and, why not, suggest policy solution for these phenomena.

Possible tools

Evolutionary game theory seem to be the natural language for this type of issues. Institutions evolve and adapt, and certainly have important effects in economic development. Also, behavioral and experimental economics give important instruments for the study of human behavior. Agent Based Models may help us create controlled social environments.
