Mike Specian is a AAAS Fellow hosted at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office (BTO), where he works to make buildings more energy efficient, resilient, and flexible to an evolving electrical grid. Prior to joining BTO he studied astrophysics in Germany; policy responses to high-impact, low-frequency disasters at the National Academy of Sciences; climate indicators with USGCRP; and disaster preparedness for Baltimore City. For some reason he is a fan of the Buffalo Bills.
