Born and raised outside Chicago, IL. I escaped to the warmer climes and surf of southern california for graduate school at UCLA. Traveled further south to San Diego for post-docs at The Salk Institute and San Diego Supercomputing Center. I've been working in the fields of high performance computing and bioinformatics/genomics ever since. I enjoy surfing, working out, climbing and racing cars.
