Foundations and Frontiers of Complex Systems, Bariloche 2008
The Santa Fe Institute announces its first Latin American Complex Systems Summer School, CSSS-Bariloche. “Foundations and Frontiers of Complex Systems” will be held December 1-14, 2008 at San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, a beautiful location on the fringes of Patagonia.
As the first SFI CSSS to be held in Latin America, we plan to capture the spirit of SFI’s contribution to the founding of complex systems. The school will emphasize the importance of foundational ideas and cutting edge research in complex systems science.
This two-week program is an intensive exploration of complex behavior in mathematical, physical, and living systems for graduate and postdoctoral students. Lectures, discussions, and student projects focus on nonlinear dynamics, pattern formation, dynamics of living systems, scaling, and network theory. Participants are expected to attend for the full two weeks. All lectures are in English.
No tuition is charged for the program. Accommodation and meals are provided. Support for travel may be available. Students from all countries are welcome.
We hope you are as enthusiastic and excited as we are about this summer school!
