Kapil Narula is an officer in the Indian Navy (IN) and is a graduate of the National Defence Academy. He is trained as an electrical engineer (BTech, Naval College of Engineering; MTech, IIT Kharagpur) and as an economist (PhD, Development Studies, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai). Kapil is also a certified Energy Auditor (Bureau of Energy Efficiency), a trainer (Gold Medalist, Indian Society for Training and Development) and an energy and sustainability professional. Kapil’s career goal is to provide a leadership role to the world onto a path of sustainable development and an energy secure future. He is an interdisciplinary practitioner who advocates a ‘system of systems’ approach. He has a varied industrial, academic and research experience with many publications to his credit. Kapil is currently a Research Fellow at the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), which is a maritime strategy think tank and undertakes policy oriented research. His vision for energy efficient and environmentally responsible IN has fructified into a set of ‘Green Initiatives for the IN’, which have been adopted on a pan India basis. |
