Ashok Pon Kumar is currently leading the ThinkLab and Cognitive Experience Lab initiatives of IBM Research in India. In addition, he is also contributing to multiple projects in the smarter energy space. He was also one of the architects of the platform that IBM has developed for the Smarter Energy research assets, which allows real time processing and visualization of big data. He has written multiple papers, book chapters and hold multiple patents in the area of Smarter Energy. Before joining IBM Research, he architected multiple products for the Rational division of IBM. He did his bachelors from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University.
