Born and raised outside Chicago, IL, I escaped to the warmer climes and surf of southern California for graduate school at UCLA where I received my Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology. I traveled further south to San Diego for post-docs at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies and San Diego Supercomputing Center, where I studied the molecular biology of HIV and Herpesviruses. I've been working in the fields of high performance computing and bioinformatics/genomics ever since. I enjoy surfing, working out, backpacking, climbing and racing cars. | |||
My research interests include biological networks, modeling of infectious diseases and pathogenesis, genotype networks, and genome evolution and adaptation with regards to cancer. | |||

Born and raised outside Chicago, IL, I escaped to the warmer climes and surf of southern California for graduate school at UCLA where I received my Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology.
