Travis Vaughn, Perimeter Presbyterian Church - Atlanta GA USA

Travis is the Director of Cultural Renewal for Perimeter (Presbyterian) Church in Atlanta, GA. His research interests include urbanization, social networks (in cities), participatory action research, and human geography. He devotes a great deal of time to the discovery of creative and innovative ways to help people work together to build on assets and solve problems. His work allows him to integrate non-formal education practices to prepare leaders to thrive in public, private, and social sectors of the city.

Travis has taught as a visiting instructor at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, and he has been a guest lecturer at Emory University (Candler School of Theology) in Atlanta. His work has taken him to global cities such as London, Johannesburg, and Sao Paulo. In Sao Paulo, he worked with community stakeholders to discuss the use of collaborative and participatory action research methods in the city’s Bom Retiro community, Cracolandia, and surrounding areas.

His writing has appeared in publications such as PRISM Magazine, the International Bulletin of Missionary Research, and New Geography. Travis holds a Master’s degree from Covenant Theological Seminary, and more recently he has worked on PhD studies at Concordia Theological Seminary.

Travis's other interests include organizational design and leadership development. He enjoys cycling and running as a member of the Atlanta Track Club. He lives near Atlanta with his wife and their three children, all of whom are competitive distance and middle-distance runners.
