Complex Systems Summer School 2015

I obtained an MSc. in Cognitive Science from the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh,
and since December 2013 have been studying for a PhD in Systems Neuroscience at the Institute for
Adaptive and Neural Computation also in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh.
The aim of my project is to build a semi-automated framework to ease the assembly of rule-based models
for neuropsychiatric disease.
My research spans the fields of Neuroinformatics and Systems Neurobiology and aims to model the molecular
mechanisms underlying pathogenesis in neuropsychiatric disorders. I’m fascinated by the genetic and epigenetic
processes that act in concert to produce emergent properties of the brain such as cognition. In my current
research I’m developing dynamical models using different types of biological data to better understand how
these processes work at the mechanistic level.
