	~~I'm a doctoral student (soon~~: ~~candidate) in Political Science, majoring in international relations (IR)~~. My main interests are international security and conflict; I went back to school specifically because I read a couple papers from SFI-affiliated scholars, and thought, 'Could be interesting to apply to this to IR.~~" Lately I've been looking at power-law results in measurement of war magnitude and frequency, and would like to extend this work to network analysis of conflict and alliance systems~~. Alas, complexity has not made the inroads in Political Science that is has in other disciplines, so this ends up being a side project from my actual dissertation research; that research looks at the domestic constraints on states' capacity for violence.
