Mohit Dubey is a seventeen-year-old high school Senior at New Mexico School for the Arts. Born at Stanford and raised in Los Alamos by two immigrant scientists, he was immersed in and inspired by a scientific community throughout his childhood. However, starting with the violin at the age of five, Mohit learned to appreciate the beauty of music and its importance in defining and uniting world cultures. These two passions have manifested in projects such as installing a “Play Me Piano” to inspire spontaneous performances in public places and creating Audio Textures, an image to sound translator to aid in blind navigation. Mohit plans to attend either Oberlin College and Conservatory or University of Arizona, where he can pursue his loves for music and science simultaneously and in harmony.
