Program Start

Dorms become available to students Sunday, June 14, 2020.

Sunday, June 14, 2020 11:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M CHECK-IN

On-site check-in for the Summer School will be from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14 at the IAIA Residence Center (Number 7 on the campus map). CSSS staff will have a table set up and will greet you. First you will check-in with SFI staff to receive information about SFI and the summer school. Then you will got to a second table staffed by IAIA staff where you will receive your dorm assignment, dorm key, electronic access card, identification card, and information about IAIA facilities. If you are driving your personal vehicle to the summer school, you will be able to park for free on the IAIA campus. There is parking available directly adjacent to the Residence Center. Please find the next available space.

Lunch on Arrival Day
Lunch will be served in the cafeteria from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

ARRIVAL DAY - WELCOME EVENING DINNER IN CAFETERIA
June 14, 2020 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. will take place on campus.

Late Arrivals
If you are unable to arrive during the check-in period, you will need to check in and get your room key from the Housing Staff at IAIA. They are located near the front doors of the residence hall.

The office will be open that evening until 10PM to help you. After 10 PM, the staff will make sure that your keys are with Security. Call them at 505-577-1660. They will give you keys and help you get into the dorms. If your international phone is not working, knock on Security's door which is located next to the front doors.

Please let the Housing Contact, Joseph Mirabal, know if you are running late. Email is preferred: joseph.mirabal@iaia.edu. If you can't email, please call 505-350-8629. Note: if you get your keys from security, then you will need to stop by the housing office on Monday to check in and to sign their paperwork.

Monday Lectures Begin

CENTER FOR LIFELONG EDUCATION (CLE) - We meet for lectures in the Commons on the 2nd floor. The facility is open daily, Sunday - Saturday, from 7:00 am - 9:00 pm. Call security if you need it opened for you. Thanks.

Lectures start at 9:00 a.m. each day in the Commons located on the 2nd floor of the Center for Lifelong Education (CLE) building. (Number 4 on the campus map).

Be on time each day.

FRIDAY WELCOME DINNER
June 19, 2020 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in downtown Santa Fe.
Schedule (subject to change):
Board Shuttles: 5:30 p.m. (be on time)
Shuttles Leave for Museum - 5:40 p.m.
Arrive at Museum: 6:00 p.m.
Tour Museum & Shop in Gift Shop: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Socialize / Cocktails: 7:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Dinner: 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Board Shuttles: 9:00 p.m.
Shuttles Leave for IAIA: 9:15 p.m.
Arrive at IAIA: 9:45 p.m.

2020 CSSS T-shirt

It is a tradition that summer school students select an image for their CSSS t-shirt by voting on designs submitted by fellow students. This will happen at the beginning of summer school.

When you register, you will be asked to select your t-shirt size. Please use this chart to help you select the correct size. We must order t-shirts before you arrive so be sure you have selected the correct size. THANKS!

IMPORTANT: Purchase Travel Insurance

HEALTH INSURANCE:
It is very important that you have health insurance coverage while attending the summer school. International participants are especially advised to make sure they have adequate coverage before entering the United States. Participants in previous years have found that purchasing extra travel insurance is a wise idea.

The U.S. health care system is disjointed and unpredictable with pricing. Participants must purchase travel insurance to be protected financially.

Program Expectations

PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS:
We expect that all participants will comply with the following requirements: 1) attend all lectures for the full duration of the program; 2) participate fully in the intellectual development and write-up of a group project and fulfill all related assignments and deadlines; 3) complete all surveys administered by SFI related to the CSSS, including pre-program survey, all faculty evaluations, and a post-program survey. Participants who do not meet these requirements may be asked to leave the program at the discretion of the director.

Friday, July 10, 2020
8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. CHECK-OUT
All dorm rooms must be vacated by 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 10th. Please return your key to CSSS staff at the table on the first floor of the CLE. If you depart before 8:30 A.M. on Friday, please make prior arrangements with CSSS staff and leave your key at the security desk. Lost keys or keys not turned in by 10:00 A.M. incur a $25 fee.
