PROGRAM FORMAT:
The school consists mainly of lectures and small group meetings/project work. There will be a public lecture off-site on Thursday evening, July 16; transportation will be provided. Sessions on Saturday, July 18 will be presented as a mini-symposium. Week 1 sessions will be held in the Thunderbird Room; Week 2 sessions will be in the Tesuque Pavilion, room A.
The schedule on the wiki is updated as information becomes available. Most of the lectures are scheduled in the mornings or early afternoons. Please note that group projects are a major part of the school; for details, please see the "Project" section of the wiki. You do not need to come prepared with a project or project proposal.
Background readings related to lectures are added to the wiki under “Readings” as they become available.
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS:
We expect that all participants will attend all lectures for the full duration of the program, participate fully in a group project, and fulfill all related assignments and deadlines. You should expect to spend some amount of time working on your group projects outside of the scheduled sessions. Participants who do not meet these requirements may be asked to leave the program at the discretion of the directors.
HOUSING/MEALS:
Program participants will be assigned to spacious, double-occupancy rooms. For safety and contractual reasons you may NOT have overnight guests in your hotel room.
Meals begin with dinner on Sunday, July 12 and end with breakfast on Saturday, July 25. Three meals are served each day: breakfast, 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.; lunch, 12:30-1:45 p.m.; dinner, 7:00-8:30 p.m. The exception is Sunday, July 19, only breakfast will be provided; this is a free day for the program, and participants are on their own for lunch and dinner.
AMENITIES
Resort facilities including the fitness center, outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, tennis courts, badminton, and croquet are available to participants at no charge. Any resort activities that incur a fee must be paid by participants. Participants are also responsible for expenses accrued to their account such as long-distance telephone charges, alcoholic beverages, and room service.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION:
Hotel Shuttle: The hotel has shuttle service to downtown Santa Fe scheduled three times daily. Please check with the front desk for details.

SANTA FE:
Santa Fe is located in northern New Mexico at an elevation of 7,000 feet (2,130 meters) in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. With a population of over 65,000 people, it is well known for its art, culture, dining, and year-round outdoor activities. July weather is usually hot and sunny during the day (90F/32C) and cool in the evening (55F/13C). There are often thundershowers in the afternoon. Dress is casual. Be sure to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat with you. Hiking boots are also recommended. Please note that at this altitude, the sun's rays are stronger than what you may be accustomed to. Humidity is usually low, and you should make it a point to drink plenty of water throughout each day.
For more information about Santa Fe and events taking place during your visit, please look at the City of Santa Fe's web site, or follow the links on the Bishop's Lodge web site.
