From Santa Fe Institute Events Wiki

I'm a fourth-year PhD student in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. My project involves the biochemistry and evolutionary history of the prion protein, the causative agent of prion diseases such as bovine spongiform encephalopathy (aka mad cow disease) in cattle and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans.

I very much look forward to learning from the programs and activities at the Complex Systems Summer School.
