- I will describe the major ideas of TNGS (Theory of Neuronal Group Selection) proposed by Gerald Edelman (aka "Neural Darwinism" or "Neural Edelmanism"). This mostly misunderstood and under-appreciated theory explains the principles of how the brain works. I will discuss possible mechanisms of Neural Darwinism based on polychronization of spiking neurons. The talk will be an extension of the results found in http://vesicle.nsi.edu/users/izhikevich/publications/spnet.htm
