Mark Newman

Mark Newman is a professor in the Center for the Study of Complex Systems at the University of Michigan. Previously he was a member of the resident faculty of the Santa Fe Institute from 1998 to 2002. He has been teaching at the SFI Summer School since 1996.

Professor Newman will be lecturing on networks and recommends the following two review articles on the topic. You should try to take a look at the shorter one, by Strogatz, before the first week of the school. The second, longer one is for reference only:
