Emma is Senior at Monte del Sol Charter School. She has attend Monte since 7th grade. She will be attending University of California at Berkeley in the Fall where she will study computational biology.

In the summer of 2011 Emma attended the Santa Fe Institute’s Complexity And Modeling Program (CAMP) in Groton, Massachusetts. She hopes to use the skills she learned in that program at Berkeley. Emma worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory last summer learning/doing epidemiology.

Emma’s extracurricular activities include piano, model UN, Girl Scouts, and Roller Derby. She is a member of the Marionettes out of Albuquerque. Her derby name is Luna Shovegood.

Fun factoids about Emma: Emma has memorized the first 50 digits of pi. She has an extra bone in each of her feet. Her favorite book is George Orwell’s 1984.
