This three-day meeting will explore the role of complex adaptive systems thinking in the study of history. We will consider ecological and economic themes on day one, issues relating to conflict and competition on day two, and finally, unifying perspectives and models of large-scale historical patterns on day three, drawing on a distinguished group of speakers from both the natural sciences and the humanities.
