Or more specifically this: Given that there is an interaction between a persons name, how people react to them, and the person they eventually become, what factors do you think are most important when considering the naming of children (either real or hypothetical)?

Do you feel it is important to respect heritage?

Would you value a name more if it increased the persons job prospects?

Do you want the name to instill certain values? Courage? Common sense? Confidence? Morality?

Do you want a name that is social acceptable? Common or rare? Easy or hard to nicknamify?

Is it more important that the name fits as a child, or as an adult?
