Comments/Questions/Ideas?

  1. If we think of Porter's ideas of margin (for the producer) and value (for the consumer as a linear supply chain, then Ackoff's ideas of the legitimate authority in an enterprise seeking Control while its workers seek Autonomy, we now have defined another axis on which to evaluate fitness of the evolution of the enterprise. If we add others (like regulators, collaborators, the public, competitors) we get a complex social network of interacting agents deteriming the "value" proposition (fitness? suvivability?) of the enterprise. it is in this environment we develop new systems and processes. (Joe DeRosa)
  2. One more thought... an assertion, really. (I wonder if it is true?) The developmentof such systems and process in business must follow the rules of evolution: present a variety of technologies, use fitness criteria from the "value network" to find the survivors and integrate the selected varieties into the next generation of the evolving enterprise. (Joe again)

I have had similar thoughts to Luciano and posted them here What are your thoughts?
