Complex Systems Summer School 2016 |
Anne Sallaska, The MITRE Corporation - McLean VA USA
Though my background is in nuclear astrophysics and nuclear physics, I work as a senior data scientist at MITRE with projects in the cyber security realm and the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA). I received my BA in physics from the University of California, Berkeley and my MS and PhD in physics from the University of Washington. My postdoctoral projects at Duke and University of North Carolina continued my dissertation work on recreating the processes that occur in exploding stars with accelerators.
Previous work at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and DHS Domestic Nuclear Detection Office involved writing standards for and testing of radiation monitors for the detection of trafficking of illicit nuclear materials. During the summer school, I hope to use a data from a strategic, multiplayer online game as a proxy for understanding real-time adaptive strategies in cyber intrusion attacks.
