forecasting consumer trends
As an example, in the past decade bookstores have been closing, people buy books on Amazon, switch to ebooks etc. However, there is a very recent trend that people are moving back to buying paper books away from ebooks and that some used bookstores are flourishing. Also library usage has fluctuated, and in some cases escalated due to walk-in users who need the internet. I know this is a very specific example, but is there a way to use complexity to better understand these trends and look at the big picture?
