Last years amazing Kindle 3g wireless reading device has just been upstaged by guess who ? Yes the New Kindle !!
I believe one of the major advantage of the Kindle Wireless Reading device is that it is good for one thing and one thing only and that is reading. Whilst that might sound a kind of obvious statement, consider what has happened to the mobile phone. The reason I say that is because considering the path of the mobile phone that has now become such a multi functional tool tool today. It is my belief that most people really just want to be able to do two things with their mobiles, telephone or text people. The result of that journey of these toys, I mean those sophisticated pieces of communication equipment, is that some of the mobile phones today can cost enough to run a small country, ok slight exaggeration but you get my point.
All the brilliant features of the previous version of the Kindle reader are still present such as small, light, slim, easy to read in pretty much any environment, fast page turns and very quietly done too. It has it’s own energy source meaning you can use it literally anywhere, anytime with a very long time between recharging. It has an amazing storage facility of up to 3500 books, putting that into perspective for you, imagine a large book case with 200 books in it then multiply that by 17 and half, and all that in your handbag of pocket. The ebooks available online are continually rising and currently Amazon hold about three quarters of a million books, magazines, newspapers and blogs. They are constantly adding to that ever growing number with the latest releases and best sellers.
The new Kindle comes ready to use straight out of the box and I believe is very user friendly and will become a constant and reliable companion in no time. It can even read to you, not too bad huh, there is also a facility to navigate using your voice and although both are included and work Amazon admit it is still in the experimental stage. It is good to know that Amazon are continuing striving to make our reading experience the best that it can be. As an avid reader I personally look forward to what the future holds regarding the Kindle reader.

I love that it has it carries its own dictionary, especially the the types of books I read and study from, I am forever needing to look up words. It does not get heated regardless of the length of time you use it in one go, hours even, I believe that is a pretty cool feature, yes guilty, I did mean that pun. With the Kindle keyboard it is brilliant for navigation and I find it very useful for making notes on what you’re reading, if like me, you are in the habit of doing that for studying. Being able to turn the the pages using either hand is a boon too for lazy folk like me who don’t want to move more than have to when deeply involved with what I am reading.
Another fetish I have is to keep all my files and folders on my computer beautiful neat and and tidy with a virtually clear desktop and have the ability to find what I want very quickly. That is why I love how easy it is to organise and categorise everything into the Kindle library. I guess it doesn’t matter too much if you prefer to be untidy because the Kindle search feature will find you what you want, it is all a matter of preference but at least that facility is there.
Of course if you happy to set up a wireless router at home for your new Kindle, and have already have a nice quick internet connection in place, then you could be very content with the cheaper more basic version. When I say more basic I don’t mean to imply the features are inferior because they are definitely not, and if you do not see it as a restriction not having that extra feature of downloading anyplace, anytime then you'll certainly save money. I just see it similar to the more basic mobile phone it will cost you less but serve you well and will do exactly what it is meant to do, no more but definitely no less, as a top quality reader should do.
I guess the one thing that I think would be quite nice to have would be if the Kindle wireless reading device displayed some stuff in colour but for me most of what I use it for is to read straight forward text and truthfully that is easiest on the eyes in the end anyway. Although it is possible to read it in the dark it is not one of it’s best features but I avoid that anyway, too much of a strain on my eyes. The other little niggle I have is those unwanted adverts that appear, not interrupting the reading thank goodness, I would prefer not to have to pay a bit extra for an ad free version that said the price still represents excellent value and you can ignore them and move on quickly to the reading material of your choice.
Whatever version you decide to go for I believe that you will never regret your investment it is fast becoming no longer the novelty it once was to being a natural part of my life.
