Hi, I am a PhD student in Mathematics and doing my research at Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, Germany under the guidance of Prof. J. Jost. I did my masters from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India.
My research interest is to understand how basic principles behind the interaction and evolutionary process that can be represented as a network can be described using only the spectra of the graph. I am investigating how and why structural and evolutionary properties of a network are reflected by the spectra. The particular system I am using now for my research is the protein-protein interaction networks.
Except Mathematics my interests are also in Philosophy and Physics. I like traveling very much. Traveling to China will be of great excitement. I am looking forward to meet you all.
Cheers!!!
My answers to the 5 Q
1. What topics do you have some expertise in and would you be willing to help others learn them?
Hi, my research is on spectral graph theory and I am trying to find out how spectra of a graph, constructed from a network reflects inheritance structural and dynamical properties of that network. My work covers computational and analytical both areas. So I think I could help others to understand the basics of Network and Graph theory. And also the computational concepts in these fields.
2. What do you want to learn at the CSSS?
In order to study networks in a scientifically relevant way I need to have a fundamental knowledge and sound understanding of complex systems. Being from mathematical background, I need more basic and profound knowledge in the field of statistical physics.
3. Do you have any projects or research interests that would benefit from an interdisciplinary approach?
(i) I have an impression that evolution of social network could be studied well, with the help of evolution of graphical structure (changes of connection within graph) according to synchronization with some dynamics on that graph.
(ii) Find a quantitative definition of 'community' in network.
4. Do you have any ideas for what sort of project you would like to do this summer?
I am interested to do any project in social and biological networks. It will be exiting for me to work in an interdisciplinary team.
5. Suppose you could travel one-hundred years in the future and ask researchers any three questions. What would those questions be?
(i) Has the mystery of evolution with all its missing link been solved?
(ii) Are we alone in the Universe?
(iii) Can all the matters of the universe be connected by one and only on theory?
