Nathaniel Mueller

Nathan is a first-year PhD student in the Foley Lab at the University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment (IonE). He is fascinated by the connections between sustainability science, economics, and policy. Nathan's research with the IonE's Global Landscapes Initiative examines the influence of agricultural management practices on global crop yields, nutrient loading, water use, and climate change adaptation.

Nathan received his B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Saint Olaf College, where he researched ecological stoichiometry and freshwater nutrient cycling. He spent some time as a research assistant at the US EPA Mid-Continent Ecology Division before finding his way to the U of MN.

When Nathan isn't staring at his computer, he enjoys hiking, biking, rock climbing, cooking, and playing with fancy electronics.
