Hi!
My first interest in attending to the school is to know the state of the art and the frontier research in the area of complex systems and nonlinear dynamic. I would like to know closer the applications in order to have more possibilities of doing research in particular applications.
My actual research is about random walks and renewal precesses with discrete self invariance. This kind of random walks can present a power law behavior and singularities of its structure function. In the real space this translates in infinite moments. Physical systems that have infinite first moment present super diffusion and are in some regime are called Levy Flights. A trajectory of a Levy Flight form clusters of different scales leaving big portions of the space without covering. The space covered by the walker is of fractal dimension. My interest in this random walks come from the possibility of obtaining some statistical properties of some complex dynamical systems (maps) by treating the system as a random walker in the phase space. The clustered trajectory simulates the breaking of ergodicity. The final goal is try to find some general statistical-mechanical expressions for systems without the ergodic property.
My hobbies are dancing, listening to music and I am very interesting in philosophy too.
I hope we could all start a new multidisciplinary community.
See you there!
