Hi Everyone!

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone in Bariloche this December! I am currently a PhD student at the University of Arizona, in Tucson, AZ, USA with a major in Ecology and a minor in Global Change. My research focuses on how climate change effects the diversity and functioning of alpine plant communities in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA. I recieved my BS in Physics and Astronomy from Haverford College, where I studied the Integrated Sachs-Wolfe Effect and used radio galaxies to determine how much Dark Energy there is in the universe. I'm especially excited to attend the course to link my past life with my new one, because they both deal with the evolution of complex systems!

Aside from science, I am an avid hiker, birder and I love to play guitar. This will also be my first time in South America and my Spanish is embarassing (despite spending a lot of time in Mexico!) - so if anyone has advice on getting around Argentina, places to see birds and ways to improve my Spanish quickly that would be great.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Christine
