Social Networks Dynamic Analysis

Do conflict events lead to distinct patterns or motifs? Can we identify conflict constellations before they become conflict supernovae? Conflict prevention research has rarely, if ever, applied social network analysis and conflict events-data for conflict early warning. This research will draw on real conflict event data to identify interaction patterns between actors just prior to high levels of conflict and cooperation. We will consider the policy implications of the results and outline next steps for future research.
