I am a second year PhD student at the Centre de Recerca Matematica in Barcelona. I am focused on atmospheric convection and precipitation from the point of view of Complex Systems and Self-Organized Criticality.

Main interests

My scientific interests are interdisciplinary, including different aspects of statistical physics, statistics, stochastic processes, and applications of those in complex systems, natural disasters and meteorological phenomena. I've just started a project in prediction of extreme events. I am interested in the origins of the power-law relation and the development of accurate methods for observe and validate them in real-work data sets.

Expertise

I graduated in Maths and I did a Master in Physics. I program mostly in Fortran but I use C as well.

What I hope to get out of the CSSS

I am looking forward to be there for explore new topics in various disciplines and for learn a lot of new techniques. I expect to be able to apply all these to broader areas of complex systems. I am especially interested on team projects and I am sure I will find new collaborators for my actual and future topics!
