Gregor Obernosterer
From Santa Fe Institute Events Wiki
Hi, my name is Gregor and I am from Austria. I was fortunate to grow up in the Southern Alps. I studied Computer Science and Molecular Biology in Vienna and Bielefeld. My research interests lie within the complexity of microRNA regulatory networks. This was also the theme of my PhD thesis at IMBA. Moreover, I am deeply fascinated by studying behavior, learning, and memory formation. Memories are the basis of our nature, so how is memory established? The work of Eric Kandel inspired me to cross the RNA world to investigate how the brain functions.
I am an outdoor freak! Anyone is welcome to join me for climbing, slacklining or skiing. And I love to go to Jazz concerts from Wolfgang Muthspiel, Erika Stucky and Wolfgang Puschnig and listen to the music of Antonín Dvořák. I enjoy going to chamber concerts of Dora Deliyska who is an exceptional pianist.
