I’m an architect and urban planner, and I have been focusing on understanding the dynamics of socioeconomic residential segregation in Brazilian cities and the impact urban policies have to either intensify or mitigate segregation. My interest for the topic of segregation started in 2003, during my master studies at the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research (INPE), when I developed spatial measures of residential segregation. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Center for Development Research (ZEF, University of Bonn) and my work concerns the development of a multi-agent simulation model of socioeconomic residential segregation for a medium-sized Brazilian city.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all at the CSSS! I really wanna be part of this unique environment where people with so many different backgrounds are able to meet and exchange ideas!
