Description

Hey, I'm Sonja.

I just finished my PhD at the EcoNetLab in Darmstadt, Germany. My main interest is in predator-prey dynamics and complex ecological networks and all these parameters that are responsible for food-web stability (which are... diversity and body masses first, then food-web connectance, link number, trophic relationships, generalization and many more). Happy to tell you more in June, if interested. :)

Meanwhile, I hope to meet a cool Gang over there in Santa Fe and I am also looking forward to some international fun and all the interesting stuff everybody is working on.
Me, I love hiking and week-end trips, all kinds of outdoor, backpacking, hanging out with friends, a book or a beer.

The Qs

1. What are your main interests?
I ever want to learn more about the complex dynamics in natural feeding communities at land or see, and loved to first deepen and then apply the knowledge we have on endangered systems.
2. What sorts of expertise can you bring to the group?
During my PhD I worked a lot with complex natural systems, working with models based on non-linear differental equations. Overall I think I will have way more questions than provide printable solutions.
I think I can prob give some insights in complex ecological systems and the ideas and fun behind their modelling.
3. What do you hope to get out of the CSSS?
This is a copy-paste but fits just perfect: Progress on the questions I've been asking, and awareness of the questions I haven't thought of yet.
I gotta find my way to some post-doc work and have some ideas about mixing food-web dynamics with environmental aspects. Gotta dig deeper here.
4. Do you have any possible projects in mind for the CSSS?
Not really. I'm just curious and open for almost every projects (let's put it in an environmental background). Hope to work together with a cool team on that!
