Hi, I'm from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Glad to meet you all. I'm interested in tone perception and tone emergence. Hope the training SFI will equit me with more power to better investigate the question. Look forwards to meeting with you and learning from you all.

1. What topics do you have some expertise in and would you be willing to help others learn them?

I'm not a experienced programmer although have a little experience with TLAN, a kind of connectivity neural network software, and a little experience with C programming. Although programming is a somewhat weakness in my abilities, I'm experienced with experimental design, brain activities and experimental psychology. I would like to share with my emperical data with others' theoritical modeling.

2. What do you want to learn at the CSSS?

I would like to expand my background and abilities to study and modeling complex systems. I wish to explore approaches and learn about methods and tools to cope with problems in complex systems.

3. Do you have any projects or research interests that would benefit? from an interdisciplinary approach?

I am involved in an interdisciplinary project aimed to exploring the multisensory integration, which specify on the perception of tones.

4. Do you have any ideas for what sort of project you would like to do work on with other CSSS students this summer?

Yes, if it's possible, I would like to exploring the model of multisensory integration in the summer school.

5. Suppose you could travel one-hundred years in the future and ask researchers any three questions. What would those questions be?

How language emerge? How can the all kinds of information can be integrated in the brain to make a coherent sense? Why there are tonal language and nontonal language in the world? Why, peoples from different areas have different acents?
