Major Transitions in Life: Origins to Translation Workshop
Oct. 29th, 2018 – Oct. 30th, 2018; 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Noyce Conference Room

Meeting Summary:
The meeting will convene scientists from a broad range of disciplines to work on the frontiers of origins of life research. This meeting is part of a five-year NSF research coordination network (RCN) grant aimed at bringing new and synthetic thinking to the origins of life. A main goal is to introduce adjacent and divergent thinking to this field in order to open new avenues for progress. This will include linguistic theorists and ecologists amongst others. The top-level goal of the RCN is to create a coherent vision for the next phase of origins of life research through establishing what we do and do not know, and for organizing future research, novel collaborations, and ongoing communication efforts from a diverse community of researchers. The annual meeting will serve as the central node for all of these activities.

Purpose:
Research Collaboration

SFI Hosts:
Chris Kempes and David Krakauer
