Hello!
My name is Kyle Scot Shank. I live in the Down East region of Maine in the town of Bar Harbor, right across the street from Acadia National Park. I'm a student of College of the Atlantic, pursuing a B.A. in Human Ecology.
Academically, I'm interested in economic theory (orthodox and heterodox) and its application. More specifically, I'm interested in how we can use tools of economic analysis and agent-based modeling to give a theoretical basis to the ideas of cooperation and community decision making, specifically with regards to environmental resource management and sustainability efforts.
Outside of the classroom, I'm a big fan of hiking (especially National Parks) and marathon running, along with the usual staples of twenty-six year old nerds: literature, coffee, puzzles, and craft beer (Robinson Jeffers, french roast, cryptoquips, and imperial stouts, respectively).
I look forward to meeting everyone soon!
