Greetings,

My name is Vasu, and I'm entering my third year of medical school at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I was born in the Midwest and have now come back in a roundabout way - with stops growing up in Seattle and San Diego.

I graduated from college at UC Berkeley, where I had a strong interest in infectious diseases and the social sciences, specifically economics. This is an interest which sticks with me to this day. Past research includes a study of the effects of healthcare treatment on prevention behavior for the rural poor in Guinea, West Africa, co-authored with Dr. Daniel McFadden (Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2004 Aug 3;101(31):11523-5).

I really enjoy the possibilities of interdisciplinary work. So visiting the Institute and Santa Fe should be an exciting trip.

Look forward to meeting you all!
