There are several goals for this workshop:
- Plant seeds for interdisciplinary and/or international research collaboration in complex social networks and urban dynamics
- Help participants gain a greater understanding of important questions, research methodologies, and research opportunities
- Help participants gain a greater understanding of funding agencies and strategies for successful grant writing.
To meet these goals there are several components to this workshop:
- Lectures and tutorials on current research topics and methods
- Roundtables and discussions
- All student participants will prepare a short research proposal presenting some ideas for future, collaborative research. This will include:
- A short (20 minute) presentation at the end of the workshop
- A two-four page written proposal
