Welcome to everyone, students and faculty alike. I'm delighted to be the Director of the 2006 SFI Complex Systems Summer School. In addition to overseeing the program, I'll be giving a few lectures related to "stylometry," an application of pattern recognition to the quantification of style. Links to relevant papers will follow soon. Generally speaking, my research is in the area of computational harmonic analysis, which is a mathematician's way of saying the theory and application of signal processing. Looking forward to seeing you all in June. We have a great program ahead of us.
