I am an Associate Professor at the University of New Mexico, with a joint appointment in the Computer Science Department and the Department of Physics and Astronomy. I study quantum computation (especially algorithms for the Hidden Subgroup Problem), phase transitions in NP-complete problems (e.g. the colorability of random graphs, or the satisfiability of random formulas) and social networks. I am also on the External Faculty of the Santa Fe Institute.
