Nathan received his B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Saint Olaf College, where he researched ecological stoichiometry and freshwater nutrient cycling. He was a research assistant at the US EPA Mid-Continent Ecology Division before finding his way to the U of MN.
In his spare time, Nathan loves hiking, biking, rock climbing, cooking, and playing with fancy electronics.
