-Hi, my name is Gregor and I am from Austria. My early years I spent in the [http://www.moelltal.at Alps]. I studied Computer Science and Molecular Biology in Vienna and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bielefeld_Conspiracy Bielefeld]. My research interests lie within the complexity of microRNA regulatory networks. This was also the theme of my PhD thesis at [http://www.imba.oeaw.ac.at IMBA]. Moreover, I am deeply fascinated by studying behavior, learning, and memory formation. Memories are the basis of our nature, so how is memory established? The work of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Kandel Eric Kandel] inspired me to cross the RNA world to investigate how the brain functions.

-I am an outdoor freak! Anyone is welcome to join me for climbing, slacklining or skiing. And I love to go to Jazz concerts from Wolfgang Muthspiel, Erika Stucky and Wolfgang Puschnig and listen to the chamber music of Antonín Dvořák.
