New page

I'm an assistant professor of [http://www-ce.ccny.cuny.edu/ civil engineering] at the [http://www1.ccny.cuny.edu/ City College of New York] and am also associated with the NOAA Cooperative Remote Sensing Science and Technology [http://crest.ccny.cuny.edu/ Center]. I study the interaction between climate, water supply and agriculture. I'm especially interested in the climate and land-use aspects of sustainable agriculture, in putting sustainability on the engineering curriculum, and in community gardens, green roofs, and other measures to ameliorate cities' physical, economic, and social climate. I studied at the [http://www.umich.edu/ University of Michigan] as an undergraduate and have a Ph.D. degree in geochemistry from [http://www.caltech.edu/ Caltech], where my dissertation work focused on using tree rings and carbon isotope measurements to quantify carbon sinks in forests and in the oceans. There's more about my research on my [http://ce193.engr.ccny.cuny.edu/ website].

This will be my first time in New Mexico, and I look forward to climbing in the southern Rockies.
