	My lab centers around the microscopic movers and shakers of the planet. We model the interactions of microbes with their environment and also with each other to suggest ways in which we can modify their behavior to accomplish important socioeconomic tasks. Our models and provide a means to compare regulatory architectures across species. We strongly emphasize the role of gene regulatory reorganization in adaptation. Our models suggest dynamic regulatory relationships and influences between molecular parts within an organism and provide a means to compare regulatory architectures across species.
